Behavior Code: The Providence ABC's
Aim
High - Be Respectful - Care
for Others
A behavioral code has been developed at Providence to guide appropriate
student behavior in a consistent manner throughout the school.
Specific rules are developed to govern situations (lunchroom,
playground, etc.) that require heightened specificity, however,
all rules relate directly to our behavior code. For the complete
policy, please read our Classroom
Management & Behavior Policy (PDF document).
Chapel – Spiritual Growth
Chapel is held weekly with a focus on spiritual growth and worship. Chapel
for 1st – 6th graders is on Thursday from 12:40 – 1:15
p.m. Kindergarten and Preschool chapel is on Wednesday
from 9:15 to 9:30 am. Parents are encouraged to attend our
chapel service whenever possible. A voluntary offering of food
or money is collected weekly for distribution to a variety of missionary
groups and other service organizations.
Parent-Teacher Fellowship
The purpose of the PTF (Parent-Teacher Fellowship) is to foster
a caring Christian community by encouraging family involvement
and by supporting teachers. PTF supports the PCS Core Value
of relying on Christ’s model of discipleship and the early
church’s model of fellowship and community as a way of interacting
with students, family members, staff and the local community. PTF
is linked to all of these groups in support of the PCS school mission.
Leadership
Many people work together to lead our school in a positive direction.
These people include the school board, administrator and faculty.
The board serves as the governing body of Providence Christian
School. The men and women who volunteer their time each month
to meet and discuss issues regarding PCS are dedicated to Christian
education and are committed to providing the highest quality
standards in education, both academically and spiritually.
Read our Statement of Educational Philosophy and our Statement
of Faith.
Board Members: Joel Price, Kathryn Castle, Kurt
Clegg, James Wilborn
Advisors: Ron Engelland
Founders: Glenn Bullman, Christine
Lynch
Principal: Carolyn Curles
The Board members meet regularly and no less than once each
month in accordance with the school bylaws to facilitate
and support
the operations of the school. Additional participants in
Board meetings are one Parent Representative selected annually
in
May by the leadership of the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
and
teacher volunteers who serve on a rotating basis as a Faculty
Representative.
